System Of The Undead

Chapter 71: Chaos

Chapter 71: Chaos

Sam, Clementine and Rachel took cover, they left the road as they knew that things would be different should anyone spot them.

They were so focused on the fight previously but now, they were actively looking for a threat.

This told them that there was a threat within these walls.

"Bella, that fucking cunt!" Sam cussed under his breath, he low-key blamed Clementine because he left Bella with her.

She should have known better but it was like he was the only one that saw her as a threat.

The other ladies were far too lax around her even though she fucked them over.

Sam was curious as to what kind of man that Jason was turning out to be, he wanted to see if he would remain the same if they did survive today.

Sam didn’t know anywhere here so where he could go was severely limited and they also knew the longer they stayed, the lower the chances of them surviving was.

They had two options; continue their initial plan of saving Jason and risk dying or get themselves out of there through the route that Bella had given them.

"You ladies should leave the place, I will handle Jason. I cannot work efficiently if I have to protect you two!" Sam cautioned them and he was right but what made Sam think he could take these people alone?

There was no way that Jason wouldn’t be heavily guarded with the person that was just killed and the killer did not attempt to hide it.

"We aren’t going anywhere Sam, you will need all the help you can get," Clementine responded and she had a point.

Sam was reluctant to take it but he too understood how dire the situation was and the gunshot was sure to draw zombies and with the darkness, they will be at a huge disadvantage outside the walls.

Sam noticed that everyone was armed to the teeth, they were looking for blood.

Two people stopped close to where they were hidden, they began to search the area and Sam knew he had to take them out quietly but there was no way he could take both out simultaneously and if he took one out, the other would have time to scream.

He looked over at Clementine and she gave him a knowing nod. Sam and Clementine proceeded to move forward and wrap something around the necks of both men.

They couldn’t scream and they tried to break free from the hold but that too was in vain.

The good thing about this was that they couldn’t pull the trigger on their guns.

Rachel couldn’t help but admire how smooth that was, it was swift and efficient.

"Follow my lead! We’re going to rescue Jason," Sam said with his eyes focused in the direction they dragged Jason.

The Specters weren’t worried about this threat, this wouldn’t be the first time that their livelihood has come under attack but they knew it had to be an inside job for them to come into their camp undetected.

This was when Bella’s involvement became likely, Liam was originally ranked as the number 10 but for reasons unknown to the population, he was given the rank of 9.

In reality, Liam was the weakest but his mind was what made him intriguing, Cindy gave him the rank of 9 because it held a sentimental value of sorts to him.

The other Specters accepted it because they had no problems regarding this.

"Are you okay Cindy?" A feminine voice asked her and Cindy scoffed at how absurd it was that Liam met such a pathetic end.

"I’m fine, have they figured out who did this?" Cindy asked; she was seated on a chair, and it was just her and this lady in the room.

The room was empty except for these two things, they had access to electricity luckily as this was one of the major reasons in which they took residence here.

Cindy was a fighter and in terms of combative skills, she was superior to Liam.

"They haven’t but do you think that Bella had something to do with this?" The lady asked and the look on Cindy’s face gave her the answer she sought.

"It has to be her, she is the only one with enough motive to kill him and the only one that Liam would drop his guard around..." Cindy said with no sign of remorse.

The lady before her was a petite woman with brown eyes, she was approximately 5’ 1.

With a flat chest and behind, one could easily mistake her for a child but she was well in her late twenties despite her age giving her the appearance of a lady in her late teens.

She had on shorts and a short-sleeved black shirt but this wasn’t the thing that made her standout. It was the tattoo on her neck, it had the letter 7 embedded in it.

She went by the name Allison.

"I never liked Liam, he has always been a false Specter," Allison said and this made Cindy snicker, she couldn’t believe she had just said that.

"It isn’t in good taste to speak ill about the dead," Cindy said but she said so with a wide smile on her face.

"Liam was pathetic, I have no idea what He saw in him..." Allison said, clearly referring to someone that held a superior rank to them.

"We should join with the others, we cannot take this threat lightly," Cindy said as she got up to her feet with Allison following behind her.

The Specters were gathering, one of their own had just been killed and there was no way that they were going to let this slide.

-

"H-How could this be..." A man with a torch muttered, the place he stood was a familiar one as it was where Jason was held.

He wasn’t alone as three others were with him and they looked equally worried.

What came into view was an opened cell.

"We need to alert the Specters!" The man blurted out but before he could turn back, he saw three others lying dead on the ground with their heads turned 180 degrees.

"Fuck!" He cussed out loud, trying to run but he felt a firm grip around his neck and what followed was a crack.
