Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Merlin decided to take back what he'd thought earlier, about striking up a conversation without serious consequences.
The tenth person who walked in was a tall man in a dark gray suit. He walked from the dark door to the bright bar. Fingers—the fabric of the suit stretches out the volume of the shoulder and arm muscles. His nose bridge is high and the side lines are unbelievably good-looking, but he doesn't know the color of the eyes, Merlin thought because he couldn't see it from this angle.
The bartender, an old man with long gray hair pulled back, cocked an eyebrow and slid over to him with a whiskey glass.
And this godlike man loosened his tie and sat on the bar chair. While the bartender was pouring the wine, he took off his suit jacket and put it aside, and rolled up his cuffs.
God, look at those hands, look at those arms!
The bartender served him a double shot of whiskey, and the man hadn't said a word.Regular customers. Merlin blinked. He had a hunch he'd like this bar, damn it.
The blond man thanked him. The short "Thx" made it almost impossible to catch sounds other than X. He picked up the glass and took a big sip. He knocked the bottom of the glass on the bar and let out a long breath, as if It seemed to be alive at last.
Merlin didn't even notice how intently he was staring, his gaze seemed to penetrate the man's skin and slide down his throat with the wine, his Adam's apple trembled under his gaze, and he couldn't help swallowing.
"Hey, hello." Will elbowed him, pulled him out of his delusions, and gestured to the blond man with a smothered smile, "Look at you," Will shook his head regretfully, " If it weren't for this being a public place, you'd already pounce..."
"Shut up!" Merlin yelled, his cheekbones turning suspiciously pink and his lips pursed tightly, as if he'd be uttering an insulting word otherwise.
"Oh come on," Will rolled his eyes, "this one, even if I told you not to go, you would have gone, right?"
Well, Merlin took another look at the man, indeed.
He took a deep breath and murmured to himself why he had promised Will to come out "for a walk", taking it for granted that the guy he'd known for so many years would never do anything right, Merlin took the last sip and let go of his glass - he kept grabbing So tight that it left a white mist on the sides of the glass. He glanced at the man casually—the man was also looking at him.
Merlin's heart left his chest for an instant, and it did, jumping into his throat.
The man blinked at him, his eyes were clear blue.
God help, Merlin swallowed.
At the same time he had to keep himself from dangling around like a zombie screaming brains brains I want to eat brains.
"Hi." Finally, while the bartender turned around, he squeezed out this sentence.
