Chapter 1079: Full of Ceremony
Chapter 1079: Full of Ceremony
The audience burst into enthusiastic applause once more! The elders and friends offered their encouragement!
Joy, wearing a beautiful pink dress, had no idea what was happening. She happily looked around.
"I hope my dear child will grow healthy and strong on her future path in life, smooth sailing all the way! Now, I declare the first birthday celebration for Joy Lancaster officially begin!" Adrian Lancaster’s voice was gentle, joy evident in every word.
The first event of the birthday celebration was the ritual of rolling away troubles. As the host spoke, Eliza Hayes, dressed in a red dress, came over joyfully holding Caleb Lancaster’s arm and carrying a cooked egg.
A chair was placed at the center of the stage, tied with a red ribbon bow on it.
Surrounded by everyone, Eliza Hayes sat stably in the chair, while Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner handed little Joy over to her grandmother.
"Sweetheart, happy birthday." Eliza Hayes loved this granddaughter dearly.
Caleb Lancaster handed the cooked egg to his wife, who took it and gently rolled it up and down, left and right, on the little one’s back.
As she rolled, the grandmother blessed her, saying, "Roll away troubles, roll away, troubles, be gone, may the baby be smart and always healthy!"
"Thank you, Grandma." Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner bent slightly in unison and thanked her on behalf of their daughter.
Everyone present beamed with joy, and another round of applause erupted!
Joy unexpectedly started shouting "Grandma!" over and over, melting Eliza Hayes’s heart.
Grandma and Grandpa gave the little one a big red envelope.
"Next, please, Mommy and Daddy, wash the little one’s hands. Let’s wash our hands now!" The host remarked from the side.
A servant brought over a gold basin filled with warm water, and Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner held Joy to wash her hands.
The photographer captured both close-ups and wide shots.
The host, holding a microphone, said, "First wash, smart and clever, everything you deserve, second wash, safe and sound, no worry for food and clothing, third wash, everything goes well, healthy and long life."
Guests and elders present began applauding again.
Next was the hair brushing ceremony, where the host recited blessing words with a sense of ritual.
After brushing her hair, Old Master Lancaster placed the golden lock and silver bracelet on the little one, while the host said beside him —
"Wearing the Hundred Blessings Lock, surrounded by blessings, wearing the golden bracelet, safe for life!"
The applause was thunderous again, and the elder even kissed Joy Lancaster on her forehead.
The crossing through the gate of wisdom was done with Adrian Lancaster and Faye Turner together holding Joy as they passed.
She may not know what day it is today, but seeing so many people, so many balloons and flowers, so much pink, the little one was very happy.
Her chubby face was always adorned with a smile, looking here and smiling, looking there and smiling, as if she were a carefree little angel, full of energy, never tired, cooperating with everything.
The drumming for wisdom was done by her grandfather Simon Xavier; with every beat, the little one looked up in surprise, only to hear her grandfather’s voice —
"With the first beat, wisdom opens!"
Immediately afterward, her grandfather beat the drum again, "Second beat, success in exams, third beat, health and safety."
In the eating celebration, Faye Turner helped the child complete it, with little bites of apple, symbolizing safety and peace.
Then she took little bites of longevity noodles, symbolizing health and long life.
All the elders and friends gathered around the child, recording small videos with phones or taking photos.
The professional photographer had already captured it all.
In the footprint stamping part, Adrian Lancaster held Joy Lancaster while Faye Turner took off her pink shoes to have her step heavily on the printing ink and then printed her footprint on a piece of calligraphy paper.
The host blessed her —
"May Joy Lancaster be content and joyful, walking through life steadily with wide horizons."
Soon it was time for the "first grab" activity. Amid the screams and anticipation of the crowd, at the end of the large red carpet, many items were laid out.
The couple carefully placed their daughter down, three meters away from the items, and then released her hands.
All the guests wanted to see what the little one would choose for her grab.
