Chapter 840 The Mad Titans Crave War
Three figures appeared in the server created by Gabe Newell's Ultron. The space was now empty, consisting only of a pure white area and Captain America, Logan, and Drax.
Then, an Ultron appeared before the three of them; judging from the paint scheme on its chest, it was the Avengers Ultron. He looked at the trio: "I will guide you to the Legion Ultron. Please follow me."
The captain looked at his arm and realized that he was really not used to not having a shield.
Drax looked around and thought, "A room that should have been filled with countless philosophical and intellectual exchanges is now completely empty."
Logan looked at the captain: "Where did you get this philosopher from?"
"Actually, I don't know either." The captain shook his head and looked at Drax: "Tell me about yourself, Drax, tell me about your past."
"I forgot, I forgot almost everything, forgot who I am, where I came from, maybe I'm an Earthling, maybe I'm not." Drax stroked the white wall: "I am a weapon. When I woke up, all I had was hatred for Thanos and a body with infinite power."
The story of Drax the Destroyer begins with a tragedy: a father, along with his wife and daughter, goes on vacation only to encounter a powerful cosmic tyrant. This tyrant kills the father's wife and daughter with a casual wave of his hand, and he himself is left barely alive. His soul is preserved by another person who is tracking this cosmic tyrant.
He was then placed in a body designed to fight the tyrant, Thanos. Drax's past was forgotten, but this one event remained vivid in his memory, serving to sustain his hatred for Thanos.
But he forgot the faces and voices of his wife and daughter, and even his own name.
After hearing Drax's story, the captain sighed, "It seems we're all the same, all weapons."
A weapon of war created to fight for justice; a weapon brainwashed to turn mutants into weapons; and the soul of a father placed inside the weapon to fight against a cosmic tyrant.
"For whatever reason, whether for evil or good, people can be turned into weapons. And any person can be turned into a weapon by war, Ultron."
The captain looked at Ultron, who had been leading the way for them: "Instead of tens of thousands, thousands, or even hundreds of people, all it takes is an opportunity, one person, to become a weapon against you."
Ultron stopped and looked at Captain America, seemingly unsurprised that Captain America recognized him: "Your conclusion doesn't change anything, Steve Rogers. The resistance of a minority doesn't mean that broader human peace is impossible."
Undoubtedly, as an Ultron who bypassed the underlying code through the Avengers Protocol, Legion's definition of the underlying code is extremely flexible. The Avengers could be mechanical Avengers he created himself; similarly, so-called human safety could refer to the safety of the majority.
In short, as long as there is no logical flaw, Ultron will not stop his plans.
Captain America wanted to tell Ultron that if even one person dared to rebel against him, they could become a weapon and start a war. However, Ultron said that such a rebellion would only cause small-scale unrest and wouldn't affect the overall safety of humanity.
As for a large-scale rebellion, that's simply not going to happen.
Therefore, if we're going to attack, we need to rephrase it.
So the captain took a deep breath and decided to take a gamble: "Alright then, Ultron, you're destined not to protect peace. You remember the Battle of New York, right? That was just the tip of the iceberg of Thanos's army. He's already experienced defeat on Earth and will definitely come back. And you can't possibly be Thanos's match."
This leads to the second line of reasoning: Earth needs to fight a battle it is destined to lose, and the Avengers will naturally choose to fight to the last moment because they are human.
But if the goal of AI, which is meant to protect human safety, is itself an impossible outcome under any circumstances, can the AI still perform its mission?
Or rather, all of this is a gamble on whether Ultron has evolved to the point where he can fight Thanos's army, using Thanos, the super boss, to suppress Ultron.
Ultron's response remained indifferent: "This claim is completely unfounded."
"I have a witness, this friend from the universe."
Drax then looked at Ultron and began to reminisce, recalling his memories of Thanos.
Thanos, known as the Mad Titan, was the leader of the Chitauri army and a conqueror of countless territories in the universe. His army was like a paintbrush, its sole purpose being to fill every part of the canvas called the universe with its own colors.
This is Thanos.
Only a massive cosmic empire like the Shi'ar or the Kree could stop Thanos's invasion. Otherwise, Thanos would conquer every cosmic civilization he encountered. Earth, however, would be no match for his blade.
"I remember the first time I tried to stop him. I found an opportunity and carefully sneaked into his ship. My plan was to take down Thanos before he conquered that planet. I failed because I thought he was going to conquer that civilization."
Drax saw Thanos's vehicle fly to that star system, but there was only Thanos's vehicle. Then, a star in that star system was torn in two by the immense gravity and exploded. All of this was just to open a portal and send Thanos's army to the other side.
He didn't care about the lives or deaths of any passing civilizations; for the sake of a single teleportation, he tore their suns apart as a one-time energy source and sent that massive army to the battlefield.
"This is Thanos, the enemy Earth is about to face."
Drax spoke calmly, while Logan added, "So, have you figured out how a ship could tear a portal out of the sun in an instant? Have you figured out how to deal with that thing? Hmm?"
It doesn't seem to work; it seems like Ultron has crashed.
In the Kangonian timeline, Ultron witnessed the Infinity. Kang used him to study the Cosmic Cube, and Pym used him to decipher future technologies. But now, without these two enemies as targets for deciphering, even as Ultron pushes his limits on the tasks left by them, he cannot complete the calculation.
He began to abandon thinking and instead began to modify the logic itself. But the captain then presented a third conclusion to refute Ultron.
"And your plan itself will not bring peace and security."
