Chapter 561 560: Revelation (pt2)
A few years and a few dead Monarchs later(Not in the visions, but was told to the Shadow Monarch)...
"How the heck is she escaping our grasp and also picking us off? Didn't we agree to stay in our secret dimensions? So how does she even get the chance when we are moving around using clones?? Did those bastards secretly go out?" The jade Monarch raged alone inside its domain.
Its glowing green eyes were filled with anger, confusion, paranoia, and mostly... fear.
Yes, it finally saw the human for the threat she was. At first, she moved in the shadows and ambushed some Monarchs with her weird techniques.
In fact, at first there were 505 Monarchs, and by the time they had a falling out with the Shadow Monarch, five had already been ambushed and killed.
But those five were the weakest. So the matter wasn't taken seriously despite their complete death that should have been impossible considering that they had true immortal souls that were also indestructible... until the woman appeared, at least.
While they underestimated her, they decided to hide away while they figured out how to deal with her.
Yet five more were taken out in just three years. The time frame between each kill was getting shorter and shorter. And the latter five were actually among the strongest.
That's when panic began to set in. Even the ever-confident and arrogant Jade Monarch began to fear the human. Mostly because they couldn't understand how she did what she did, instead of her actually doing it.
After all, how can you avoid what you know nothing about?
Even Monarchs feared the unknown more than anything. Just like humans.
In fact, any self-aware and intelligent lifeform probably has the same fear.
"No, they didn't secretly go out. I secretly went in." A feminine yet heroic voice was suddenly heard in the secret domain.
"Uh! Why didn't I think of that? There's no way those bastards would go out with how much they love their lives. But how did you get i... wait...Ahhh.... ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....!"
The jade Monarch instinctively replied, then realized what was going on a little too late.
It immediately turned around and was met by the sight of a huge grey sword which extended up and disappeared into the clouds, hell, it seemed to go beyond the secret domain.
It came down on the Jade Monarch at a speed it couldn't escape. In fact, it felt like no matter where it went, the sword would land on it no matter what.
And so, it summoned all its strength and resisted the sword, accompanied by grey light, with its own surge of green energy(Beast Aura)
Unfortunately for it, all its energy was cut through easily; one could mistake it for butter getting cut with a hot knife.
And that was the same for its body.
Just like that, the Monarch that terrorized countless lives, whether it be humans or beasts, died without even putting up a fight. Sure, it tried, but it didn't help at all.
Not only was its body split in two, it's soul was also split in 2 before being sucked in by the sword and used as nourishment to make it stronger.
That's right, every Monarch killed made the sword stronger. And just ten Monarchs were enough to one-shot a mid-range Monarch like the Jade Monarch.
Before this, the woman had to fight it out with the Monarchs a bit before she could kill them. But now that wasn't necessary as long as she wasn't going after the absolute peak of Monarchs like the Shadow Monarch. Whom it wasn't necessary to fight anyway, as he was an ally.
"I really wanted to kill the more troublesome ones first before they wisen up. But this one was way too loud. I hate the loudest ones the most..." the woman spoke to herself with a calm voice as the huge sword, which apparently had also cut the dimension in half, reduced in size to fit her human-sized body.
She then picked up the Monarch's core and a crystal, which was its authority.
"Should I eat this too?.. Nuh, I'll give it to the Shadow Monarch. He hated this guy more than me, after all. It's not even anything special after all," She continued speaking to herself as she consumed the energy in the core by just holding it.
Her aura kept on increasing as she did. She then channeled some energy into her sword, which made it vibrate as the grey fog it emitted increased significantly.
"With that, my work here is done. Let's go rest, then head off to the next target, old friend." The lady spoke to her sword, then cut space with the sword and entered the crack, which healed soon after she left.
That's how she was able to enter secret dimensions that were supposed to be one hundred percent private...
The method did even cause a commotion, so it was hard to detect even for Monarchs. As for her, she was wearing a complete body armour that made her undetectable as well. So she was basically a ghost in how she came and went without being discovered.
While her aura couldn't be detected outside, internally it was already at the level of the weakest Monarch. Something unimaginable when the strongest human to exist before her was R3...
.....
Around ten years later...
20 more Monarchs had died...
"Sigh. You'd think they'd change their ways after so many of them had died. Yet they chose to be unrepentant. It pains me to see my brethren getting killed like this. But they have lost their way and refuse redemption. So there is nothing that can be done," The Shadow Monarch spoke while addressing 20 beings looking at it.
19 were other Monarchs, and the twentieth was the human woman causing the uproar in the Ancient World.
Currently, she wasn't wearing any armour. Just a simple dress while sitting opposite the Shadow Monarch.
Her aura was suppressed but could be sensed. And it actually matched the Shadow Monarch's aura, who was one of the top ten strongest Monarchs.
Then there was the sword hovering behind her. The aura and bloodlust coming from it were so much that no one dared look at it. Even the Shadow Monarch couldn't look at it.
Just being in the same room made all the Monarchs feel like they were prey about to be killed by their natural predator, and there was nothing they could do about it.
That's right, the sword's aura was by far the strongest in the room. All of them combined could barely match it. And that's only because they were strong individuals.
The woman suddenly waved her hand, and the sword disappeared with a bright grey light. It retreated into her mindscape.
She had noticed everyone's discomfort. Something she always forgets since she doesn't feel any pressure from it. If anything, she feels warm and at ease when it's close.
"Sorry," She apologized.
"No, it's fine. It's good for our mental cultivation. Anyway, who's your next target? " The Shadow Monarch replied with an understanding smile.
"I suggest the nightmare, Monarch. While my enchantment is second to none when it comes to avoiding being discovered. The nightmare Monarch is definitely the first. I heard he ambushed a few Monarchs for their authority recently. This includes the metal Monarch, so you'll have to be careful," another Monarch, the dream Monarch to be exact, spoke before the lady could.
It was the one responsible for making the lady undetectable by enchanting her armour. In fact, all the present monarchs helped her in some way. Well, initially anyway. As she got stronger, she could do some things on her own. But that didn't affect their relationship.
After all, she wouldn't have gotten where she was without them. They trained her and provided her resources; otherwise, the monster of the ancient world wouldn't have existed.
They were all as harmonious as ever. Which was why the dream Monarch didn't mind making itself useless to her by suggesting a better method for remaining undetectable.
"Hmm. A cannibalistic monarch, then? Don't worry, I'll take care of him. I'm sure that no other Monarchs are with him too due to doing that... To think they actually gathered in small groups to resist me despite being loners," The lady replied with a playful smile on her face.
Her tone was a lot warmer than when she spoke to her enemies. Even the hatred on jer eyes was nowhere to be seen.
"Haha. When life is in danger, one does whatever they can to keep it after all," another monarch joked.
"Tsk. Shut up, fox. You're only good at jokes. What about that matter related to the Dragon Monarch? Are they still in retreat or what?" Another Monarch chimed in.
"If you're so concerned, why don't you do it, red tiger? Or you still can't face her after that humiliating loss?" The fox Monarch, who looked a lot like Althea's father(but wasn't, was her grandfather), shot back.
"Tsk," The tiger refused to continue the argument.
"Hahaha. You don't have anything to say, do you?" The fix doubled down.
"Let's go fight it out if you still want to talk about it," The tiger hissed back.
"All you know is fighting. How is fighting talking?" The fox refused without saying it.
It was weaker, so why would it agree?
"Okay, that's enough. I'll go talk to the dragon Monarch. She seems to share our views despite not being part of us yet. After all, she doesn't terrorize the weak like the others," the shadow Monarch intervened.
After that, they spoke about random stuff, then went their separate ways.
The woman returned to killing evil Monarchs. The next time she appeared, she was wearing nightmare armour...
That's right, the same armour Muku has. Which was understandable.
After all, she was the future Mrs C...
