[Criminal Minds] years before love

Chapter 118

Chapter 118

Gideon was even a little surprised when he returned to the office and saw Hotch sitting at his desk typing on the printer.Since partnering with Rossi, most of the time, Hotch doesn't come to complete his paperwork on the closing day.

Gideon never cared.

He's pretty much acquiesced to what they'll do after the case is closed, making Hotch unfit to be here.As for the so-called report, Hotch would always hand it in the next morning.

He walked across the corridor, looked at the lights that were on in Rossi's office, and stopped next to Hotch, seemingly casually, "Are you okay?"

Hotch was obviously taken aback by his sudden appearance, and almost smashed the paper, "What?"

Gideon tilted his head to look in Rossi's direction, "Is the case okay?"

But Hotch didn't seem to have received his hint at all, "Ah, the report is a few days late, I'll rush out right away."

Gideon frowned, "There's no need to worry."

Hotch didn't move.

Gideon looked around, it was actually very late, and there was no one else in the office, he leaned down slightly, and pressed Hotch's shoulder, "Are you okay?"

"Me? I'm fine."

"No. I mean, Aaron, are you tired?" Gideon didn't miss the look in his eyes that seemed to look away for a split second but quickly met them.

Hotch opened his mouth and finally sighed softly, "A little bit."

But he immediately wanted to stand up vigilantly, "But I'm fine, it's nothing, I can handle it."

But Gideon still pressed his shoulder, stopped him, and said very seriously, "Aaron, I just want to make sure you understand, you can say no."

He paused for a second, before Hotch could recover from the shock, and continued, "For everything. And without reason."

"I didn't…" Gideon let go of him, but Hotch's voice still trailed off, "...wanted to say no."

Gideon patted him on the shoulder and turned to Rossi's office.

Rossi didn't seem surprised by his presence, just raised his eyes slightly as a greeting.

Gideon frowned, Rossi didn't have any paper in front of him, obviously he wasn't writing a report, he was just sitting there in a daze. Gideon hesitated at the door for a moment, then said, "Mind if I come in?"

Rossi gestured briefly for him to come in.

"What's wrong?" Gideon sat across from him.

"Why should something go wrong?"

"Aaron's writing a report. You're in a daze." Gideon tapped the table lightly. "D□□id, don't you think this is weird?"

Rossi shook his head, "My case doesn't have much information, no victim, no perpetrator. Aaron's is a bit more complicated."

Gideon was still watching him, "But I think that's the problem."

Rossi finally looked up at him.

Gideon moved closer, "What happened?"

"what?"

Gideon turned his head to confirm that Hotch had no intention of coming in, and adjusted his posture so that he leaned back in the chair, "Strictly speaking, you are not under any external pressure, and I am sure that at least no one in my department has discovered anything, let alone Others. And whatever he thinks, at least Aaron is in control, but what's wrong with you?"

"I'm fine." Rossi narrowed his eyes and denied.

"D□□id, you know what I'm talking about." Gideon didn't intend to let him go, "That's why you are here in a daze. I was worried that your presence would affect Aaron's independence, but he did a great job, Never relied on you for work."

Rossi moved his lips, but said nothing.

"I never thought that one day you'd be... dependent on others." Gideon softened his voice.

And unsurprisingly, Rossi immediately retorted, "I didn't."

"I'm not questioning your professionalism, but the fact is that you have asked him for support more than once. At least in the past, you can solve it independently. I believe you have no problem with the case itself now. It seems that it is just... You want him." Gideon's eyes were full of worry and almost imperceptible sadness, "I warned you that the mentor system is not for you to fall in love with. You need to know that if it bothers him, it will affect you and him. BAU, it's going to be a disaster."

"I thought you didn't want me to be alone all the time."

"Yeah, I don't want to. I did try to foresee the worst possible outcome for you, and to be honest, it's not that I didn't think about your relationship falling apart and Aaron asking to leave." Gideon sighed softly, "But I really didn't think about it. It's...really not like you, D□□id."

"Is it like me?"

"So, what's going on?"

Rossi finally stood up, he poured his wine and took a sip, smiling wryly, "Security. Jason, in all the past relationships... I have never wanted each other so much."

"D□□id, I can't accept this kind of hidden danger." Gideon decisively snatched the glass and wine from his hand, "You are well aware of the dangers of this relationship, tell him your problem, and then solve it. If you can't Speak up, and I'll talk to him."

Rossi reached out and pulled the chair and sat down silently, buried his head between his arms, and didn't even refuse.
