Chapter 30
Chapter 30
"Come on, give it a try."
"it is good."
On a summer afternoon, Kang Zhier raised his arms, and in the sunlight, his fingers slowly opened, arched, and finally closed like starfish.
"Really good."
Beside the window, Elvis was sitting opposite Kang Zhier, looking at his freely stretching fingers with pleasure.
Kang Zhier withdrew his hand, looked at it in front of him, lowered his head and murmured: "There are still scars."
Elvis took his hand gently.
Kang Zhier raised his head and looked at Elvis.
"It's okay," Elvis said in a gentle tone, comforting him, "it will gradually fade away."
"Yes." Kang Zhier looked at him and nodded.
Elvis has something to do today, Bandari accompanied Kang Zhier to the hospital in the morning.Back at the mansion, Bandari called Elvis and informed Kang Zhier that he had basically recovered.Elvis came back in the afternoon.
Kang Zhier's eyes stayed on Elvis's face, he never thought that there would be a friendly relationship of mutual care between himself and Elvis.
"Elvis," he looked at Elvis and smiled at him, "thank you for taking care of me during this time."
"You're welcome," Elvis replied calmly, "as long as you get better."
The huge canopy outside covered most of the sunlight, and there were mottled light and shadows falling on Elvis's face. Kang Zhier looked at him quietly until there was a knock on the door from the other side of the bedroom.
"Master Xiaozhi." It was Suta.
"Your bedroom has been cleaned," Suta asked him outside the door, "will you move your things back now?"
Suta's voice brought Kang Zhier back to reality, he staggered Elvis' soft and firm gaze, and slowly pulled his hand away from Elvis' palm.
"Okay, come in," he said to Suta.
When Suta and Lan'er came in, Kang Zhier looked at Elvis again.
This time it was Elvis who missed his gaze.
"Thank you, Elvis," Kang Zhier looked into his downcast eyes and said to him, "I'm going back to the bedroom first."
At night, Kang Zhier lay on the familiar bed, without feeling sleepy for a long time.
The surroundings were so quiet, and he was alone in the empty room, seeing the luxuriant branches and leaves fluttering in the night wind, and the moonlight cast a corner of light and shadow on the floor tiles in front of the window.
Kang Zhier lay on the bed for a while, but felt that he still couldn't fall asleep, so he got up and got out of bed, and was going to look for a book in the library downstairs.
He turned on the light, put on his slippers, and walked slowly towards the door of the bedroom.
Kang Zhier went downstairs to get the book, and when he returned to the third floor, he was surprised to find that the light in the study room at the end of the corridor was on.
"It's so late, is Elvis still awake?"
He thought about it, and walked over to the study.
·
The study door was not closed, Kang Zhier walked to the door and saw Elvis sitting behind the desk, looking at the wallet in his hand intently.
Kang Zhier stood at the door and watched him for a moment, then raised his hand and knocked on the door.
Elvis heard the knock on the door, pulled away from his thoughts, and looked up to the door.
He looked like he was a little surprised, and he was silent for two seconds before he spoke: "Xiao Zhi, are you still awake?"
Kang Zhier held the book in his arms, looked at him from a distance, and asked him: "Elvis, can I come in?"
"of course."
Elvis sat up straight as he spoke, and put the wallet on the table casually.
Kang Zhier nodded, and quietly walked into the study. His feet hadn't fully healed yet, so every step he took, he stepped on carefully.
Elvis moved a chair and asked Kang Zhier to sit down.
After Kang Zhier sat down, Elvis looked at Kang Zhier's feet and asked him, "How do you feel now?"
"It's much better," Kang Zhier also lowered his head, and answered him, "It's just that when walking with heavy steps, it still hurts."
After speaking, they raised their heads at the same time. When meeting Elvis' eyes, Kang Zhier smiled at him.
"It's okay," he told Elvis.
In the warm yellow halo, Elvis looked at him with a clear face and nodded.
Kang Zhier's eyes moved to the countertop, and he saw the open wallet.
"You're looking at that picture again."
"Don't look at that," he said to Elvis, "that's silly."
"No," Elvis picked up the wallet with a smile on his face, touched the photo and said, "I think it looks good."
The photo seemed to touch the soft spot in Elvis' heart. After finishing speaking, he raised his head and smiled at Kang Zhier.
Because of Elvis's smile, Kang Zhier unconsciously stared and stared blankly.
"Xiao Zhi, Xiao Zhi?"
After a while, Elvis' voice woke him up.
"Huh?" He came back to his senses.
"What's wrong with you?" Elvis looked at him with concern.
"No." Kang Zhier turned away embarrassingly.
After a while, he turned his head slowly, and Elvis was still watching him with concern.
"Elvis," he asked, looking into Elvis's gentle dark eyes, "has anyone ever told you that you look good when you smile?"
Hearing this, Elvis was slightly startled. After a while, he probably came to his senses, with a smile on his face, and asked Kang Zhier softly: "Really?"
"Yes." Kang Zhier nodded.
"After that," Elvis asked him softly, looking at him, "I laugh more. Do you feel more comfortable with me?"
Kang Zhier unconsciously lowered his head, gently stroking his fingers.
It turned out that Elvis still cared about this.In fact, he didn't feel awkward being alone with Elvis long ago.
He lowered his head and was distracted, and when he turned around, Elvis' clear eyes were still following him, as if waiting for his answer.
Kang Zhier looked at his kind eyebrows, and nodded seriously.
"Ah."
The silence made for a good evening mood in the study.
"Elvis."
"Although I have already said it once during the day," Kang Zhier thanked Elvis again, "but I still want to say thank you to you."
"Is there anything you need me to do?" He tilted his face and looked at Elvis intently. "As long as it is something I can do, I will definitely do it."
Elvis looked at him knowingly, thought for a moment, and a gentle look appeared on his face.
"Xiaozhi," he asked Kang Zhier, "you can bake cookies for me later, can you give me one?"
Hearing Elvis' request, Kang Zhier was speechless for a moment, and seemed a little dazed.
He didn't expect Elvis' request to be so simple.
Afterwards, he withdrew his breath, looked at Elvis and nodded.
"it is good."
Hearing his answer, Elvis raised his brows slightly, and a kind of sincere happiness bloomed from his brows, lips, and teeth.
He smiled at Kang Zhier again.
Looking at his smiling face, Kang Zhier felt his cheeks burn, and fell into dementia again.
