Chapter 42

Chapter 42

"David Smith." Reid and JJ came out of the school and called Hotch. "We found out about this kid. His father had a tumor, and his mother left them and his son. We didn't find him at school. The school nurse sent him back home..."

"Mother's departure is a source of emergency." Hotch nodded. "He threw another body and changed the location. That nurse is probably his next target. Give us the address and we'll be right there."

"The kid is alone in the house. Jessie and I are guarding the back door in case this guy sneaks out of the backyard." Elle reported to Hotch through the walkie-talkie, then turned and told the little doctor, "Quick squat and cover."

"We should storm in." Outside the gate, Morgan and Strauss got into an argument.

"We have no evidence, he held her hostage for 48 hours before he did it."

"Sir." Morgan tried not to be too impatient, "He changed the location and method of dumping the corpse, and now he changed the method of abduction. You are betting your life!"

"Let me go in alone." Seeing that several people were arguing, Emily said leisurely, "I can inform you as soon as I find the evidence. The boy is in the living room, and he will answer the door."

"Emily..." Before JJ could say anything, Strauss interrupted coldly, "Strictly speaking, you are no longer in the FBI. You are disrupting the federal investigation."

"If I'm not in the FBI, you have no power over me." Emily replied, "I just entered a little boy's home as an American citizen."

While Strauss was thinking about what to do next, Emily put on her pistol and headed for the house.

JJ took two body armors and handed them to Elle and Jessie who were guarding the backyard. "Emily went in, we...we wait for her signal to act." She looked towards the house with a trace of worry in her eyes.

The walkie-talkie attached to his waist sent out a signal, and JJ could vaguely hear the dragging sound through the loudspeaker, his heart tightened, and he rushed from the backyard to the front hall.

Jessie followed, opening a door in the northwest corner of the living room.Go in with a gun and see Emily lying on the ground.

JJ subdued the man standing behind Emily, and stretched out his hand to pull Emily up.

"Wait..." Emily motioned to JJ with a drowsy head, "The kid behind him has a gun."

"Give me the gun, kid." Hotch came in and stood in front of JJ and Jessie, calling softly, "Come on, give it to me."

"Do as he says." The man's hands were cut behind his back, and Morgan pressed him to go out, and he said to his son before leaving.

Hotch took the gun from the little boy's hand, put it behind his back, and picked him up and walked out the door. The people behind them also put away their guns.

"Are you okay?" Seeing Emily's forehead hurt, JJ couldn't help feeling anxious, "I'll call an ambulance."

Jessie patted JJ on the shoulder, "Don't panic, I'll take care of it."

"I'm very happy to be back in this group." Emily touched the gauze wrapped around her head. "Hotch said he made sure it was official this time."

Jessie put the alcohol back into the first-aid kit, "This team can't break up, Strauss will understand."

"Really?" Elle turned to look at Hotch, "You'll still be with us, right?"

But Hotch showed hesitation, "I have to talk to Haley, when I went out today... I had a fight with her..." Then he turned and left.

"When I'm with them, I'm 100 percent focused on them, and it's the same with you. Once you have the principles, you follow them."

"It's hard, and if you sit back and watch, the job will overwhelm you."

"Divorce is not uncommon in BAU."

Looking at Hotch's back, Elle remembered what he said to herself on the plane a long time ago, looked at Morgan and Reid who were also puzzled, and sighed.

On the plane, Strauss still had doubts about Jessie's profiling ability.

"Doctor Jessie:" Strauss looked at the little doctor sitting on the side, "make a profile that satisfies me, otherwise, you can only stay in the infirmary of the headquarters as a medical staff."

"Eric..." Hotch frowned, "Don't be too hard on her."

Strauss ignored Hotch's words and stared straight at Jessie.

"Sir." Jessie said with a slight smile in her tone, "it's best not to make a decision late at night, and don't make any decisions after drinking. The top management of BAU hopes that every talent can have a calm and clear mind, and It's not the nerves paralyzed by alcohol." She was silent for a moment, "You said my profile of the BAU executives is correct?"

Strauss's heart trembled, the person in front of him could detect his alcoholism problem in just a few moments, the person in front of him quietly reminded him, and dexterously grasped his handle.

"This counts as customs clearance." Elle muttered, "Then can she become an official staff member?"

Strauss glanced at Jessie who was smiling in front of him, "Go to work tomorrow." After speaking, ignoring the eyes of several people, he walked to the other end of the plane and sat down.

The two-day suspension turmoil ended with Strauss' compromise.

"You guys are a team of rogues..." Strauss looked at the seven people in front of him and got off the plane angrily.

"Rogue team?" Reid scratched his head.

"Our new name..." Emily, still a little dizzy, leaned on JJ and walked slowly down the gangway. "Like it?"

"I don't like it..." Morgan shook his head, "I guess Strauss likes it."

Strauss walked into the office, and before he had time to turn on the light, he saw a vague black figure in the darkness, sitting opposite his desk with his legs crossed.

"Who?" Strauss turned on the light and saw Rossi sitting in the dark.

"Why is it you?" Strauss leaned against the door in doubt, "I'm very tired today, you don't know, I have a super careless team under me, who will do something earth-shattering every now and then..."

"But their ability to solve crimes and profiling is also top-notch." Rossi praised them without hesitation. "Then you may be tired for a while. I'm here today to inform you. I want to join this team."

"You say it again?" Strauss suppressed his anger. This man thinks that those little bastards are not enough to cause trouble for her.

"I don't want to enjoy retirement anymore." Rossi leaned back on the sofa chair. "I want to come back to work."

"Are you serious?" Strauss asked.

"Is there a problem?" Rossi asked back.

"Of course!" Strauss sat down in his chair and straightened up. "Why?"

"To help."

"It's really selfless and noble..." Strauss sneered. "Arran Hocher is still in charge and I have to ask his permission.

Rossi pretended not to hear Strauss' sarcasm, "I don't need to ask anyone's advice, I'm just a normal team member and I'm satisfied." He thought for a while and added, "I miss you too, Erin."

Strauss glared at Rossi and handed him the badge. "Meet your team tomorrow."

"Happy Halloween, friends!" Reid put on a mask and tiptoed behind Morgan, who was sitting at the desk, and patted him on the shoulder unexpectedly. "According to the records of Celtic mythology, there will be no order tomorrow night, and the barrier between the world and the underworld will be temporarily withdrawn..."

"Oh...Reid..." Morgan yelled out as soon as he turned his head and saw a ghost mask stuck in front of him. "Haha, you're actually afraid of this." Elle, who followed behind and witnessed the whole process, couldn't help laughing.

"Try it, it might be more violent than mine." Morgan stroked his chest, looking at the two gloating. "Jessie, can you mind Elle..."

"Everything Elle said is correct." The little doctor wrote the summary of the document without raising his head.

"What if she made a mistake?" Morgan asked persistently.

"This one is not true." Jessie finished writing the last word and capped the pen. "And she's very good, don't worry about me."

"Tut tsk tsk..." Morgan turned around, "I'm really making fun of myself..."

"Hey, guys." Reid signaled them to be silent, "Here he is..." As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Strauss leading Rossi into Hotch's office.

"David Rossi." Emily took a sneak peek. "He wants to join us?"

"It seems so." Elle nodded, "How many people are in our team now? Let me count..."

"Me, Morgan, Gracia, Jessie, Elle, Hotch, Emily, JJ, plus this..." Reid scratched his head, "There are nine people in total." He patted his head, "Why don't you see JJ?"

"That's right." Jessie also reacted, "Why do I feel that JJ has been in the office these days...not coming out very much."

Maybe it's because of embarrassment... Emily remembered the scene when JJ opened the door to see Hotch at her home a few days ago, and looked at the upstairs office with a smile.

"I hate you profilers..." JJ, who was nestled in the office and suddenly heard his name, thought to himself...
