Incorrect Spelling
  I do not know how many people have informed you already, if at all
any.
  Yet, I am sure you want to have a more professional looking program.
  Therefore I shall tell you something that you might have overlooked.

  On the main screen of the Maphack program, you seemed to have miss
spelled the word color.  Instead you spelled it colour.  Miss spelling
color like this might have been done on purpose, but I do not really
think so.  The version of this miss spelling is on the Maphack v4.4.  To
my knowledge this is the most up to date version of the Maphack.  Making
this e-mail more important to you.  This e-mail was intended to enhance
the quality of the program.  If I have offended you, I am sorry.  If
this gives you useful information, I am glad that I was able to
contribute to it.  If this e-mail does not help since you might have
already known, or you just do not care about miss spelling, then I am
also sorry for taking up your time.  It has just come to my attention
that spelling colour is an old way to spell it in England.  So if this
is the case I do apologize.  Also I have just visited your site and have
found other miss spelling.  Please do not get the wrong impression of
me.  That I am just some nut that cares about a few miss spelled words.
It is that I do not like to see others reputation to be degraded by miss
spelling words.  In my opinnion creating this useful of a hack, should
not be degraded in this way.  My advise is that you should take some
time to spell check your work.  This small action will improve the
opinnions of the unknowing people, which will have thought otherwise if
it had been miss spelled in the first place.  I hope this e-mail helps.

It has been brought to our attention that your add on program to assist with map features in the game Diablo 2 main contain a trojan virus or back door virus or a secret program that sends sign on information to ones account that uses your program then a theft of such account occurs.

Please be advised thats several members including myself use our computers that are part of America Search And Rescue during off time to play Diablo 2 for entertainment and use your map program to allow us to play easier. In all honesty, we feel Diablo should allow a mode that allows views of maps, however should we discover that your program contained such virus or harmful hidden feature, it will be considered an intrusion on our system and we are mandated and will promptly file a complaint with the United States Department Of Justice and the Computer Crimes Division of the Federal Bureau Of Investigations.

We have already discussed this with two agents in the Computer Crimes Division and will be sending the file from your site to them for review. You may or may not be within the jurisdiction of the United States but note that most countries, including the UK, do prosecute and imprison computer hackers.

A lot of our members, including myself have a lot of time invested in this game and would take this, if it happens as a theft and a crime. We play this game to unwind and relax.

So far non of our members have lost their accounts and I am suggesting to completely uninstall Diablo 2, Delete the directory and reinstall without your program.

In addition, I have to ask you for liablity purposes, DOES YOUR PROGRAM CONTAIN ANY HIDDEN FILES, PROGRAMS, VIRUSES, PASSWORD REVEALORS OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A MAP REVEALOR?

YOU ARE ASKED TO RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL PROMPTLY.

I am attaching your map program file for your review.  

I do not mean to sound abrasive but we take computer intrusion and theft seriously. I do know Blizzard Entertainment is against 3rd Party Software, however, they do need to modify there program to allow map view.

A few words of wisdom.
Well, first I'd like to say that I don't use hacks.  I think they are bad,
and that they ruin the game, and take the fun away.  I don't care if other
people use the hacks as long as they dont fuck with me or take my shit.

Second, I would like to say that all you morons out there who complain that
a hack prog fucked your shit, think about it.  IT'S A HACK.  End of story.

Next...mousepad, I realize that your map is helpful and useful (especially
for power leveling), but I would like to reccommend in the interest of free
gaming and the spirit or fair play, that you remove and do not implement any
maphack feaures that allow people to take/steal/see/id/etc. items.

Hey on 2-25-02, I was in the trading channel and someone was advertising that they’d give someone a skill hack for only 100k gold, so I offered it to him and he e-mailed it to me. He said that you made this hack, but I’m not so sure, since I don’t see anything like it anywhere on your Website, so I’m afraid it might contain some kind of Trojan horse. The guy said that you were supposed to install it into your maphack directory, and install it before you actually start Diablo up, I tried it, but when it didn’t work, I went ahead and deleted the skill hack and changed my character password. Sure, I know that there's guys out there that do this for every game made,
but why Diablo II? Remember back in the day, Diablo was hacked beyond
belief. People made their own items, TOWNKILL, and invulnerability were
among the top killers of the game. Yup, that's right, hacks killed Diablo.

I used to play that game all the time, however, eventually it became
impossible to play with anyone other than trusted friends that you knew.
Then, everyone stopped playing all together because the game was absolutely
no fun with all the hacking going on, why now move to Diablo II?

Its all about killing the game. Blizzard came up with a realm so people
could play and be assured that fair play was assured. Still, people like
yourself find the need to gain the upper hand  by creating Map Hacks,
Hardcore Hacks, Identify hacks (What kind garbage is that, dude 100 gold
isn't that much, neither is walking to Cain).

So, what kind of glorification is there when you hack a character, cheat,
manipulate your stats? Does anyone find any satisfaction in using a program,
possibly made by someone else, to make your character more powerful than the
legits? Ya, I bet they're all gonna ooooh and ahhh when they find out you
hacked it! More like kick your @ss and call you a loser. Sure, post it to
your fanmail of fame, cause it's the people who actually have the guts to
tell you off that actually have the balls to play a game without using
"Mother's infant guide to hacking a game and killing people with your hacked
character" ... .ooo such satisfaction in that.

Which brings to mind, Counterstrike "for Half-Life", that game too is no
more fun, because some people decided that their aim was so bad, they'd have
a computer do it for them and look through walls as well. Oooooo, what fun,
maybe it should show up as "computer frags 99", "personal frags 0"...cause
you didn't do jack to earn those.

CGI, Java, Q basic, and c++. I have been messing
around with ur MapHack source and i have added a few
extras to mine like an insta-kill for any target shown
on the mini-map (ever wanted a way to do REALLY quick
Meph runs in hell?) Just be sure and dont kill ur
self. If you would like to try my versoin of the
maphack reply and ill send you a copy of the source
and you can use your own compiler to run it. Oh and i

Hmm, you got a lot to learn kid. First off, your excuse that the point of
battlenet hacks is to make blizzard realize nothing is inhackable is a poor
excuse indeed. Ofcourse nothing is unhackable, they realized that with
Diablo 1. If you were to go play Diablo 1 online, you will see townkills,
dupes, million dmg/hp/mana/etc characters, etc. Is this what you really want
for Diablo 2?

Now, you ask what harm the entire map does. The showing of the map allows
you to see everything on the map thus making everything EASIER for you thus
eliminating challenge. What point is a game without challenge? Challenge is
what makes us play the game in the first place, there is no challenge in
Diablo 1 right now because it's hacked to the core, what's the point of
playing. Your continuation of keeping maphack alive will ruin the challenge
this game has to offer and only ruin the quality of the game itself. Also,
being able to do more runs lowers the value of the most valuable items in
the game(like Windforce, Grandfather) because the market is getting flooded
with items much faster. This affects everyone in the surroundings because
someone who had legitly found a Windforce will see it go down in value
because maphackers are flooding the realms with good items because they got
to complete mf runs faster.

Mousepad, you are pathetic. Again, what do you hope to achieve by using a
hack to degrade the quality of this game? Blizzard already knows stuff can
be hacked(heck, even I can hack it too probably but will I: No). It seems
Mousepad only cares about themselves and not the rest of the Diablo
community. Your attempt to ruin a game is rather pathetic as I see no real
goal coming out of it.

The EULA: Did you read it? Probably not because of your ignorance Mousepad.
But, it clearly states that third party programs that allow you to gain an
unauthorized advantage over others in closed realms will be targeted and
eliminated. You by making a hack have violated this agreement. Once doing
this, anything goes by blizzard, they have all the right to sue you for any
damages you have done. Yes, maphack is clientside as I'm aware but there are
always ways to combat that or to make maphack incombatible. All it requires
is some restructuring of the .dll files. Not changing of addresses as that
will do nothing really since you can make your hack compatible with the new
addresses but it is possible to create a more unhackable .dll. Also, the
statement that "blizzard can't do anything about this site" is the biggest
pile of crap I've ever heard. For your information, many many hack sites
have been shut down by blizzard(not Diabloworld though as they shut it down
themselves). Those shut down sites left a message stating blizzard has shut
them down. Those are the major hack sites that host D2Hackit, tradehacks,
duping methods, etc. They have ALL the right to sue your asses because you
violated their agreement in the first place. That is a criminal offense mind
you which will leave your asses dry and out of money. It does not matter
who's server it's hosted on, blizzard has all the rights to do whatever they
want when their agreement has been violated. Again, a poor attempt indeed
but you will go down mark my words.

P.S. To the person that sent me the original message, you need a lot to
learn about spelling, grammar and punctuation...

To Mousepad, you are foolish...like I said above, you will go down for one
reason: you violated blizzard's TOU agreement and it doesn't matter what
website server you are going to hide behind, your site will be shut down and
your asses sued. You might not realize this due to your lack of intelligence
and maturity but your day will come sooner or later.

 Your mousepad map hack sucks, you know that? Why cant i install it? All it sez when i click install is "d2maphack.dll is missing." This is just dumb. d2maphack.dll is missing? I just installed the dum thing. And then when i install it again, and then open it, it sez "cannot find blitzboti". I do no what the hell the problem is. Why would u need a blitzboti? It should then say so in the  requirements. Ive tryed downloading the piece of junk from different places, and they all dont work. There was even a web site with a review, giving it 5 out of 5 stars.
